# Your Legume Can Make Its Own Nitrogen—But It Needs the Right Partner
A soybean farmer may prepare the land carefully, buy good seed, plant on time and still watch the crop remain pale and weak. Sometimes the problem is not laziness, bad luck or a neighbour secretly redirecting the rain. The crop may simply be struggling to obtain enough usable nitrogen.
